Hello everyone,
Today was an emotional and exhausting day for Lonna.
We started with a mammogram, made more difficult by the stitches she still had in from the chest tubes.
This afternoon came our meeting with the Oncologist.
The results of the Pet scan revealed that the cancer has not metastasized further than the lymph nodes and pericardium.
No new surprises there.
What was most distressing is the fact that there is very rarely a remission this kind of cancer and Lonna will be undergoing Chemo treatments every three weeks, indefinitely.
That is the medical side of things.
We believe there is only one in control and that one is God.
He has brought her from the brink of death and we believe she is and will continue to be his miracle.
He listens to our prayers.
Please continue to, Pray for Lonna, we are in battle.
Our love and thanks go out to all of you for your love and support.
In God's Hands.
Sandy
In December 2007, Lonna had hysterectomy and shortly afterward became ill with what the doctors believe was pneumonia and then MAC disease. With further tissue samples and testing she was diagnosed on May 9th with lung cancer. Three days later, she was admitted into the hospital with stage 4 Malignant Adeno Carcinoma. The doctors feel that chemotherapy is the only way to slow down this aggressive, fast-growing cancer.
The family is still holding on to the fact that there are miracles that happen every day. We are all fervently praying that Lonna Dee Keeth will be God's next miracle. This cancer has gripped her so unbelievably fast. On May 14th, the doctor put a medaport in Lonna's chest for her impending chemo therapy treatment. They no longer got Lonna out of surgery before the doctors wheeled her right back in for emergency surgery. Her lungs and her heart had life threatening fluid build up that had to be removed. On May 15th and 16th she layed in ICU starting to recover. At 10pm on the May 16th she had her first dose of chemo.
Today, May 17th, is a new day and we still have Lonna with us. Lonna is going to fight! Please fight with us! We need more angels like Lonna to continue walking amongst us. Lonna has a 12 year daughter named Halle Keeth, she is so beautiful just like her mother. Some of you might remember her from our inflight training video, she was the little unaccompanied minor that looked up at the flight attendant and had that one line, (don't talk to my mom that way), but she did say it perfectly. Most of Lonna's family are Continental employees in one facet or another. Her mother, Sandra Hayes, is a HTA flight attendant and her stepfather Dennis Baraga (Buzz) is in reservations. Lonna's Aunt Janet Shelton is a flight attendant and her Uncle Rob Shelton is a pilot.
From the beginning Continental Airlines has been so supportive to our entire family, we will forever be so grateful for all their kindness. Lonna has so many dear friends who are praying for her, loving her, and missing her. The family is asking all of you to please hold Lonnna Dee Keeth up in your prayers. People all over the world are praying for Lonna right now please join us in our prayers. Through this blog we will try to keep everyone updated frequently as we all go through this uncharted journey.

Hi Lonna,
You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. I have to tell you that I had a huge scare the other day. While walking my 5 year old Son,Logan, to Safety town, I felt a huge lump on the side of his neck. My stomach dropped! I immediately put in a call to his doctor. As I sat through his first day of Safety town, my thoughts were everywhere but there. I took him straight to the doctor to start the process of elimination. She pricked his finger to test for Mono, stuck the wooden stick down his throat for strep, and then sent us to the hospital for more bloodwork. Turns out he has an infection in his lymphnodes. I am still very scared since he has had swollen lymphnodes since birth. He is a child with many allergies so I know that he is prone to these things. While I continue to pray for you and yours, Please keep us in your thoughts too. Be well, Shawnna Moore(Shawnna111@aol.com)
Hi Lonna,
We are praying for you. So is a prayer circle at our church. Stanley introduced you to us some time ago at dinner in Humble while he was here for training. We are available for support, prayer, and transport if you need it. Toni is a nurse. Thank you for your posts. You are sweet to muster the energy to put them here.

Living Expectantly
Elijah was expectant. "It came about at the seventh time, that he said, "Behold, a cloud as small as a man's hand is coming up from the sea." All that Elijah had to go on was a tiny cloud, no bigger than a man's hand. In the midst of that vast expanse of sea and sky. But that was enough! He had such faith in God's promise that he acted upon what he expected to happen. And he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, "PREPARE YOUR CHARIOUT AND GO DOWN, SO THAT THE HEAVY SHOWER DOES NOT STOP YOU."
All Elijah saw was a tiny cloud, but he said in effect, "Ahab, put the rain tires on your chariot. The deluge is coming!" The human eye saw only a little cloud, but the eye of FAITH SAW THE PROMISE OF GOD! Ahab would have shrugged, "So, what's the big deal?" But Elijah shouted within himself, "Finally, God is keeping His word!"
LONNA, ARE YOU LIVING YOUR LIFE EXPECTANLY?
Elijah's God was the God who kept His promises. He was the God of impossible things. So, in childlike faith Elijah said to Ahab, "GET READY. THE RAIN'S COMING. I KNOW, BECASUE THERE'S A TINY LITTLE CLOUD OUT THERE THAT'S GETTING READY TO UNLOAD GOD'S ABUNDANCE!"
GET READY GET READY GET READY!
YOUR SHOWER'S COMING!
LOVE,
PAULA STRINGER
