In December 2007, Lonna had hysterectomy and shortly afterward became ill with what the doctors believe was pneumonia and then MAC disease. With further tissue samples and testing she was diagnosed on May 9th with lung cancer. Three days later, she was admitted into the hospital with stage 4 Malignant Adeno Carcinoma. The doctors feel that chemotherapy is the only way to slow down this aggressive, fast-growing cancer.

The family is still holding on to the fact that there are miracles that happen every day. We are all fervently praying that Lonna Dee Keeth will be God's next miracle. This cancer has gripped her so unbelievably fast. On May 14th, the doctor put a medaport in Lonna's chest for her impending chemo therapy treatment. They no longer got Lonna out of surgery before the doctors wheeled her right back in for emergency surgery. Her lungs and her heart had life threatening fluid build up that had to be removed. On May 15th and 16th she layed in ICU starting to recover. At 10pm on the May 16th she had her first dose of chemo.

Today, May 17th, is a new day and we still have Lonna with us. Lonna is going to fight! Please fight with us! We need more angels like Lonna to continue walking amongst us. Lonna has a 12 year daughter named Halle Keeth, she is so beautiful just like her mother. Some of you might remember her from our inflight training video, she was the little unaccompanied minor that looked up at the flight attendant and had that one line, (don't talk to my mom that way), but she did say it perfectly. Most of Lonna's family are Continental employees in one facet or another. Her mother, Sandra Hayes, is a HTA flight attendant and her stepfather Dennis Baraga (Buzz) is in reservations. Lonna's Aunt Janet Shelton is a flight attendant and her Uncle Rob Shelton is a pilot.

From the beginning Continental Airlines has been so supportive to our entire family, we will forever be so grateful for all their kindness. Lonna has so many dear friends who are praying for her, loving her, and missing her. The family is asking all of you to please hold Lonnna Dee Keeth up in your prayers. People all over the world are praying for Lonna right now please join us in our prayers. Through this blog we will try to keep everyone updated frequently as we all go through this uncharted journey.

Hi Lonna,

I found out about your illness from Kris about a week ago, and have been praying with my family for your recovery and strength. I have been thinking of you so often, you just don't know how many lives your smile and kind heart have touched, Lonna. Please be strong and get your rest. There are so many people praying for you and eager to help. I am so grateful to your sister (Hi Vicky) and the rest of your family for putting together this website for you. It is a wonderful site. Please do send me an address where I may send mail.

Lonna, I will never forget when I first met you freshman year at Sonora. I thought you were the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. As I got to know you better, I learned you are just as beautiful inside. Halle is lucky to have you for a mom. God Bless you and know that many arms are hugging you, I am sure you do by now!

With Warm Aloha,

Caroline (Mulder) Faringer

Oh Lonna,

I'm so happy, I could cry. What a blessing to see you up and smiling and at home. Now we all knew you were beautiful before, but as Cierra and I were reading the latest news, we both said "wow, she is beautiful even without hair!" Light radiates all around you. With your latest addition-- you look like a movie star.

I feel blessed to witness Gods power; I know He is smiling on you. You are a blessing and an inspiration to all of us. I continue to thank God for your total healing!

Love,

Helen

Hey Lonna,

Looking good-- sassy actually! By the way, I love the shaved head-- very very Britney circa last year!! But all joking aside I am so glad to see you so full of life and too see you so strong in spirit. God truly is revealing his great plan in your life! By the way, wanted to let you know that Joel Osteen was my prayer partner tonight. I told him that you were defeating stage 4 lung cancer and that you were recovering and so we prayed for your continued renewed health so that was a lot of fun. Also sat behind Lisa Comes who spoke again tonight. Her message was on the book of James and a strong focus on bold faithful prayers- she's so cool!!! I kept thinking about you during the whole service and can't wait 'till you can come down again soon!

BESOS!!!
Tony

Hey Lonna,

I am a friend of your mom, who by the way is a true angel in my life as I know she is in yours!! She really can make me laugh out loud!!

She left me a voicemail when she first got the news and said she really needed me to pray right now. I had just gotten in from Amsterdam when I got the voicemail. I started to cry and just had goose bumps from head to toe. I knew that this was going to be a battle....but I also know Who fights our battles...we just have to sing His praises!!

I finally got a report yesterday from Paula Stringer (who I would love to meet!) giving me the awesome praise report that you had gone home and that even the doctors were calling it a miracle!! Once again I was covered with goose bumps and started to cry. What an awesome God!!

By the way, you are absolutely beautiful with and without hair!! You look so much like your mom, who is is truly one of the most beautiful people I have ever met! God bless you and keep you and I hope to meet you soon!!

With lots and lots of love and thoughts and prayers,

Debbie Sanders HTA F/A

Hi, Dahling!

Tony checked out your latest picture earlier today and said you looked amazing and after a LONG day in the air I had to check the blog once more before bed and send up another prayer of thankfulness for having you in our lives. My tears have turned to tears of JOY!

You new look is fabulous! I can't wait to see it in person! Hugs to you and Halle. I will be with you in spirit tomorrow for the 2nd chemo which I know will restore even more of your strength. I will also pray for the doctors and nurses tomorrow that their touch will be gentle, kind, loving, and especially filled with HIS healing.

Love,
Deb (and Tony, too!)

PS: I'm still carrying an extra set of wings with me in your honor on each of my flights... I hope my terrible schedule and delays aren't bad karma! I have some funny stories to share with you about "our" travels! Remind me to tell you about the seeing eye dog...
