In December 2007, Lonna had hysterectomy and shortly afterward became ill with what the doctors believe was pneumonia and then MAC disease. With further tissue samples and testing she was diagnosed on May 9th with lung cancer. Three days later, she was admitted into the hospital with stage 4 Malignant Adeno Carcinoma. The doctors feel that chemotherapy is the only way to slow down this aggressive, fast-growing cancer.

The family is still holding on to the fact that there are miracles that happen every day. We are all fervently praying that Lonna Dee Keeth will be God's next miracle. This cancer has gripped her so unbelievably fast. On May 14th, the doctor put a medaport in Lonna's chest for her impending chemo therapy treatment. They no longer got Lonna out of surgery before the doctors wheeled her right back in for emergency surgery. Her lungs and her heart had life threatening fluid build up that had to be removed. On May 15th and 16th she layed in ICU starting to recover. At 10pm on the May 16th she had her first dose of chemo.

Today, May 17th, is a new day and we still have Lonna with us. Lonna is going to fight! Please fight with us! We need more angels like Lonna to continue walking amongst us. Lonna has a 12 year daughter named Halle Keeth, she is so beautiful just like her mother. Some of you might remember her from our inflight training video, she was the little unaccompanied minor that looked up at the flight attendant and had that one line, (don't talk to my mom that way), but she did say it perfectly. Most of Lonna's family are Continental employees in one facet or another. Her mother, Sandra Hayes, is a HTA flight attendant and her stepfather Dennis Baraga (Buzz) is in reservations. Lonna's Aunt Janet Shelton is a flight attendant and her Uncle Rob Shelton is a pilot.

From the beginning Continental Airlines has been so supportive to our entire family, we will forever be so grateful for all their kindness. Lonna has so many dear friends who are praying for her, loving her, and missing her. The family is asking all of you to please hold Lonnna Dee Keeth up in your prayers. People all over the world are praying for Lonna right now please join us in our prayers. Through this blog we will try to keep everyone updated frequently as we all go through this uncharted journey.

Tuesday August 5

Thanks so much to all of you who are helping with the research for Lonna. There is so much information out there and it becomes a little confusing as to which direction to proceed.

Have any of you heard of a treatment that involves radio waves?
A friend with stage 4 cancer has gone to Australia for this treatment.

Lonna has not been doing well. She is so sick so much of the time and her hgb is quite low. Tomorrow she is suppose to have a transfusion, so I'm hoping that will give her a much needed boost.

Till later
Sandy

Is she doing combination of chemo and radiation therapy?

* The nutritional supplement for which physicians are reporting complete remission of aggressive, stage IV cancers that have metastasized, as well as continued positive responses in other patients with previously chemo-resistant cancers. One treatment center has noted a 70% positive response rate in Stage IV cancer patients with most taking eight teaspoons of the supplement per day. One Stage IV breast cancer patient who refused chemo and radiation and was given two weeks to live by Hospice, got better with the help of this supplement. This supplement has also been shown to reduce the negative side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

Rife machines were developed by Royal Rife, one of the originators of this bio-technology. These devices transmit specific electronic signals to deactivate or destroy living pathogens, bacteria, and cancers. Rife also developed special electron microscopes. Rife machines have been outlawed by the FDA, but some clinics like American Metabolics use them in treatment. http://www.rife.org for more information. There is also a Rife Forum at Subscribe: Rife-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

Sandy,
I just wanted to know if you have had a chance to review the information I sent you about alternative treatments. The lady I told you about named Helen, has been cancer free for 33 years and never took Chemotherapy to get the cancer out of her body. She is in her 70's and knows other people who have used the same treatments, some of which she probably recommended. They are now cancer free.
Please give Helen a call and let me know what you think.
Thanks to Helen's knowledge, for about 2 years, I have been off all of my prescriptions and on some supplements and some I don't even need anymore. Helen is a good, Godly woman and she is praying for Lonna right along with all of us.
I can tell you in a heart beat, I would try these alternative methods before I would do anything else, but that is just me.
Tell Lonna we are praying for her and her Family and we love her so much. We believe that God is working in Lonna's favor right now and in His Name, she is healed. Faith is a wonderful thing! Stay Strong!
Our Love and Prayers,
In His Name,
Hilda and Family

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA), an imaging-guided minimally invasive treatment, is regarded as an alternative treatment to open thoracic surgery for some cancer patients. Patients considered for RFA are not suitable for surgery because of poor cardiorespiratory reserve, extensive disease, number of lung metastases, or refusal to have surgery.
RF thermal ablation works by converting RF waves into heat. An alternating current of 460 kHz passes from the uninsulated tip of the electrode into the surrounding tissue and causes ionic vibration as the ions attempt to follow the change in the direction of the rapidly alternating current. Thus, it is not the probe generating the heat, but the friction caused by the vibrating ions. The higher the current, the more vigorous the motion of the ions and the higher the temperature reached over a certain time.
The heat produced by the oscillating ions occurs only in close proximity to the electrode(s), with the current density dropping precipitously away from the electrode(s). This results in a lower temperature rise in the periphery. It can be approximated that the heat generated in a region at distance d from the electrode drops as 1/d4.
The goal of RFA is to achieve local temperatures such that tissue destruction occurs. In general thermal damage to cells begins at 42 °C. At temperatures above 60 °C intracellular proteins are denaturated and the lipid bilayer melts with irreversible cell death occurring.
Percutaneous pulmonary RFA is a treatment of low cost, low toxicity, low morbidity and with short hospital stay. RFA allows easy percutaneous access, feasibility of the procedure under conscious sedation and has the capability of creating fairly predictable ablations, which spare surrounding healthy tissue next to the lung tumors. Lung tumors appear to be well suited to RFA because the surrounding air in adjacent normal lung parenchyma provides an insulative effect that may concentrate the RF energy [1].
Apart from patients having uncorrectable coagulopathy and/or an excessive number of lung metastases, there appear to be no real limitations and contraindications for percutaneous treatment of lung tumors. Most of the centers, which now routinely perform pulmonary RFA, treat the lung lesions irrespective of their size and location [2].
We describe and comment on the management of a patient who had a pulmonary hemorrhage during RFA for lung metastases. This complication seems to occur more frequently than previously assumed.

There is a product called Birm which is a liquid form of dulcamara. Dulcamara is a plant which is used in chemo medication. The dulcamara plant grows in the mountains of Ecuador. The birm can be purchased on line for $120. If someone can get to Quito, Ecuador the birm can be purchased for $20 at the pharmacy at the El Jardin mall. One of our flight attendants just returned to work from breast cancer and swears her recovery is due to the birm. I picked some up last month for my mother, who has cancer but has not taken any, and another flight attendant. The mother of my friend, who also has cancer and has pretty much been bed ridden for the past two years, began taking the birm two weeks ago. When I spoke to her on this past tuesday she told me her monther was walking around.
If I had a Quito trip this month I would pick some up for Lonna. I remember Lonna from the early years and I will keep y'all in my prayers.

I like to think that no update recently means only GOOD things! The old adage, "no news is good news"! I hope you are enjoying life, resting, healing and still praying bold prayers as we are.
