The family is still holding on to the fact that there are miracles that happen every day. We are all fervently praying that Lonna Dee Keeth will be God's next miracle. This cancer has gripped her so unbelievably fast. On May 14th, the doctor put a medaport in Lonna's chest for her impending chemo therapy treatment. They no longer got Lonna out of surgery before the doctors wheeled her right back in for emergency surgery. Her lungs and her heart had life threatening fluid build up that had to be removed. On May 15th and 16th she layed in ICU starting to recover. At 10pm on the May 16th she had her first dose of chemo.
Today, May 17th, is a new day and we still have Lonna with us. Lonna is going to fight! Please fight with us! We need more angels like Lonna to continue walking amongst us. Lonna has a 12 year daughter named Halle Keeth, she is so beautiful just like her mother. Some of you might remember her from our inflight training video, she was the little unaccompanied minor that looked up at the flight attendant and had that one line, (don't talk to my mom that way), but she did say it perfectly. Most of Lonna's family are Continental employees in one facet or another. Her mother, Sandra Hayes, is a HTA flight attendant and her stepfather Dennis Baraga (Buzz) is in reservations. Lonna's Aunt Janet Shelton is a flight attendant and her Uncle Rob Shelton is a pilot.
From the beginning Continental Airlines has been so supportive to our entire family, we will forever be so grateful for all their kindness. Lonna has so many dear friends who are praying for her, loving her, and missing her. The family is asking all of you to please hold Lonnna Dee Keeth up in your prayers. People all over the world are praying for Lonna right now please join us in our prayers. Through this blog we will try to keep everyone updated frequently as we all go through this uncharted journey.

Lonna's Research
I have been asked to give a little more information regarding Lonna's type of cancer so perhaps when doing your individual research you will have more specific details to fine tune your research.
Lonna has Non Small cell Adeno CarcinomaIt is in her Lymphatic system and in her heart. Her current Chemo treatment is 4 days chemo 3 days off 1 day chemo 12 days off and then start all over.
She is in Stage 4
We appreciate all the help. It would help if when you do the research on a particular therapy or medication or what ever if you research it find out if it's viable and you think it's good and then do as much research on it before you send it to me. If you write a paragraph about what you found or a phone call that would terrific.
Thanks again for the help this is what we need to do to try and get Lonna's life and quality of life extended.
ThanksVicky ( her Sisiter )

Urgent Request
Here is what we need........................................
Many of you have asked what can I do to help.......
My mom and I are looking for Alternative help for Cancer Patients.
It is extensive re-search. It is very time consuming.
If anyone could just investigate on there own and research some different options that we might take with Lonna, it would be so helpful. If all of you could possibly look into one site and re-search and if you come across anything that is really something we need to get for Lonna regardless of where it is please let us know. You can email me @VickylKeeth@aol.com or my mom. Or pick up the phone and call me. 208-863-9245.
IF all who love Lonna try and re-search different alternative treatments maybe we could come up with something. The world is a big place and if one of us finds something it could make a difference.
Thanks
Vicky

I am so sorry for not updating before now. Lonna had a lovely time in Hawaii and she was glowing when she arrived home. We had a little problem at the airport upon arriving. Lonna had her purse on the wheel chair and whoever picked it up had a grand time. She has lost all ID and Credit cards along with check book and health cards. We have been busy all week canceling and changing account #'s.
Lonna did not receive a good report from the Dr. on Friday. It seems the Cancer is spreading in her lungs. They are putting her on a new regime of, Chemo 4 days a week skip 3 days, Chemo 1 day, skip 12 days then repeat series. She has been quite upset with the news as you can imagine. The first treatment is on Monday. I will try to keep you updated but my husband Dennis has gone back on Chemo also and I'm a little busy with both.
Love to you all. Please forgive me if I haven't thanked you individually for your gifts and support. Just know you are in my heart and it is filled with gratitude and love for each and everyone of you.

This has been the best medicine that Lonna could possibly get. She has blossomed since being here.
The trip over was just fine. She slept most of the way. The flight crew was wonderful and very caring. They had a wheel chair waiting and as we went through the terminal Lonna started to cry. She was so overwhelmed at finally retuning to the Islands where her heart is. We were met at the curb by Rick and his sister Shelley who were waiting with beautiful fragrance free flower lei's. They had made all the arrangements for the hotel and had a car to take us there. It is so beautiful and the room has an ocean view with a large Lanai where we spend a lot of time.
Lonna has flourished.
She has taken walks through the grounds and is soaking up the sun. She made the mistake of not wearing sunscreen on her head the first day and has a little burn but not too bad. Everyone here has been so gracious and kind. Halle is having a ball!! Keeping Rick busy and I do believe she has become the UNO champion.
I am still doing my research and feeding Lonna Graviola, Flax seed oil, Apricot seeds and lots of fruit. Fruit for me also, with a touch of rum. Vicky will be here on the 10th. This has been a little taste of heaven.
Love to all of you

Well, it was quite an under taking but with the help of family and friends Lonna is in Hawaii. My mom and I discussed with Lonna that she needs to live life in between Chemo's to the best of her ability. Lonna has been so sick with the Nausea and her over all fatigue but we believe that mental mind is a very powerful tool. In order for you to get strength and calmness you have to have a different scenery other then the four wall's of your bedroom. My mom worked a flight on Continental over to Hawaii and Lonna and Halle were on the same flight, so the family felt safe that Lonna was in good hands. Her friends, Shelly and Rick Hagedorn made sure that things were taken care of in Hawaii in case she needed anything. I will be flying over in a few days with my daughter Sarah and it will be a much needed girls time. We have a special love for Hawaii and believe that it is a place of healing and calmness. It's good for the soul. Lonna needs to have some Mental health and hopefully we can build up her strength. It was touch and go and we were not sure she was going to be able to get to Hawaii because she is so weak. Dennis my mom's husband, took her through the airport and made sure she got to her gate. I think she had to take a wheel chair, she is just not strong enough to walk that far in an airport. Anyway, we have an Ocean view and we believe this will be good medicine for the whole family. I'm hoping that we can send a cute picture of us enjoying our time as a family. We love all of you and appreciate the love and kindness you all have shown not just for my sister but to our family.
God bless
Love Vicky

Wednesday July 2
Lonna really loved having her sister here with her.
Vicky tried to take my place as nurse Ratchet and she just may have succeeded.
She was right on top of everything so I felt very confident being away at work.
Lonna had a good day as far as the nausea went. She is on a continuous IV drip of Zofran. She tries to rally but tires so quickly.
She and I sat on the swing in my back yard this afternoon for a little while just enjoying the serenity of it.
I have been scouring the Internet and books on alternative treatments. It looks as though there a several that have had good results. It's something she is considering.
Love to all of you

Hello,
Lonna is on her 4 day of Chemo. I think it hurts me more then it hurts her. It is very difficult to see your sister going through such pain and discomfort. I ask that you all pray for Lonna to have a Quality of life not Quantity. Yesterday Lonna was feeling such nausea that we had to call her doctor and bring her in to the Oncology clinic. Lonna has a difficult time with absorption and oral medication does not work well, so Lonna really needs to be on I.V. forms of medication. The doctor sent her home hooked up to I.V. through her port where she gets her chemo so hopefully she can get rid of the nausea. It is starting to work. Now we need to build up her strength. Today we have an appointment with her Oncologist to make sure this form of medication works on the Nausea. Lonna is too tired to write on the blog and she has turned off her phone, to weak at this point to answer the calls and texts. I know she loves all of you and thanks each and everyone for the love and support.
Thanks to you all........ We Love you.
